This 7 x 14 Foot OB (Outside Broadcast) Production Van is available as either a “Rack Ready” unit, where you add your own equipment or as a fully integrated HD or SD Video Production System.

As a turn-key solution, the vehicle comes to you fully integrated, tested and provides for training in all aspects of the on-board systems. What makes the OB-3000 so unique is that it is actually two platforms in one. It features “Roll-In” racks with heavy duty caster wheels so that when situation dictates you can actually remove the equipment racks from the van and wheel them into the production venue. This is ideal when the venue is too far from where a vehicle can park.

Flexible EZ Deploy Rolling Rack Design

This unique approach along with the compact size of the OB platform, gives the OB-3000 a tremendous advantage of flexability and broadens her prospective service base by a appreciable margin. From stem to stern the OB-3000 is a very comprehensive and well designed production vehicle.

It is built on a Pace American heavy duty trailer that comes with EZ ride spring axles, EZ lube hubs, all-steel frame construction, plus a galvanized roof and a front cap that resists cracking and fading. Pace American is a leader in their field.

The OB-3000 has been high density insulated to be quiet and energy efficient. This provides maximum cooling in summer and retains heat in winter.

It features a 13,500 BTU Heat Pump (Air Conditioning and Heating) that keeps her cool even here in the Mojave Desert’s hot summer months.

An 80 x 26 Inch Monitor Wall Bulk Head is ideal for twin 1080p High Definition Monitors. By utilizing switchers with built in screen split functions,you can use one of these as multiple High-Def Camera Monitors and the other as your Program Monitor.

Under the Monitor Wall are three Rolling Equipment Racks. Each of these rugged road-ready racks feature 20 rack units (35") of space, 18” deep for equipment for a total of 60 rack units, all on heavy duty caster wheels for easy snap in and out deployment. Note: Wainscot & Crown Moulding still in primer awaiting your color choice.

Almost nothing has been left out. It is wired for Cat-5 with ample outlets ideally located and features A and B Channel Intercom wiring with adequate standard XLR outlets nicely situated for client and crew.

Lighting consists of attractive halogen track light fixtures with dimmers for comprehensive control - along with mood setting - of all interior lighting.

A mahogany laminate wood floor accents the rich look. This provides a plush and creative workspace for an extraordinary production experience, even for the most decerning client. It is heavy duty wired and ready to accept standard 50 Amp Shore Power, but where that may not be available, you can also utilize multiple standard household circuits by wiring those in parallel with standard extension cords. This increases the flexability of OB-3000’s design and will easily power most any four to six camera shoot.

The system has been designed to be easily towed behind any ½ ton vehicle and features electric trailer brakes for added towing safety. At under $20,000.00, (or about $60,000 fully HD integrated with 4 cameras) you could not want for a better platform to build a true multi-camera Outside Broadcast Production van that will rival trucks costing four or five times as much.

The trailer is covered by the standard Pace American one year warranty. The Build-Out is also covered by our one year warranty (see details) and any added electronics is covered by the providers’ warranties.

8 x 20 and 24 Foot OB Systems also stocked and ready to go!

In addition to the OB-3000, we also offer an ‘off-the-shelf’ rack ready 20 and 24 foot by 8 foot deluxe professional video and audio production trailer with a ceiling height of 6’6". It’s a modern fully equipped outside broadcast (OB) vehicle fully heated and air conditioned and pre-wired with heavy duty AC wiring.

Five, six foot high 19" racks comprise the monitor-equipment wall. A laminated 7 foot wide adjustable console sits in front of the rack wall for flat gear such as your switcher, NLE controller or keyboard.

The interior of the each production trailer is carpeted and finished in a no-glare medium grey high tech acoustic control fabric. The cabin is fully heated and air conditioned for your comfort, as is fully wired for AC shore power in various amps, depending upon your purpose and application.

An optional 4 foot deep work room is accessed by swing-out doors on the rear providing easy access the rear of your rack wall. Full size breaker box(es) controls the system’s environment and electronics.


The trailer size is perfect with its extended 6’6" ceiling height. The larger 8.5 ft. width gives the user a true 8 ft. wide interior. There is a 36" wide passenger door on the curb side of the unit and twin swing out doors on the rear for access to the lockable storage for transport of cameras and support gear.

Other production features include 3 cable feed-thru hatch doors plus a full audio, video, CAT5 and telco I/O panel outside hatch door featuring Canare and Neutrik connectors for quick and efficient interfacing.


Add to that, there are several other considerations: Because a trailer carries no fuel or gasoline it is inherantly safer, another reason you can feel comfortable storing or using it inside a building. But equally important is that a trailer is far less conspicious. Therefore, it is less inclined to vandalism and is generally easier to either avoid location permits or make obtaining them far less challenging.

When you add it all up and sort it all out one can quickly see the trailer based approach offers some unique advantages not only to budget minded production groups but even to many of the major network broadcasters.
