Our Matte Box with Rod Supports features adjustable lens flags for varying aspect ratios and hence can be used with a large variety of cameras in both SD and HD formats. The included French Flag attaches via shoe mount to the top of the matte box.
The Rod Support System can accommodate almost all cameras. Rod Support has vertical and horizontal adjustments to fine-tune alignment. Even smaller camcorders such as the HV20, HF10, etc. can be mounted without any height problem. Perfect for DSLR use, as well.
The two removable 4" x 4" filter trays allow you to use a wide variety of 4" x 4" filters and can be rotated a full 180 degrees to facilitate easy filter changes, or for use with polarizers and/or graded filters.
The Foam Rubber Lens Rings protect your lens from contact with the Matte Box, providing isolation from bumps and sudden movements. Six foam rings are included to accommodate all lens sizes. If none of the precut rings match your lens, simply cut the included plain disk to the correct size.
*** DISCLAIMER: Due to the simple fact that most HDSLRs use lenses designed for photography and not video, there may be some lenses that are not compatible with our matteboxes and follow focus units. Some small prime lenses, especially, are simply too short and/or may have oddly placed focus rings and thus you may not be able to use both the follow focus and mattebox at the same time on the same lens. If you are using zoom lenses that physically extend as they zoom, it is a good idea to pick one zoom position at a time, if you are using a mattebox. Otherwise, you might inadvertently zoom right through your expensive 4"x4" filters and damage your equipment. These are problems inherent with DSLRs, not the product itself and will not be considered a product defect. ***
